Using Linkedin's Blogging platform Pulse... do it now!

B2B clients regularly ask for my help to do their blogging for them and whilst I love it I also know that what is better is if they write it and then I tweak it for best SEO and engagement, then they let me share it! The advantage of this is we get the information directly from the people in the business, the disadvantage is it takes time.that people within a business just don't have.

Pulse from Linkedin, this is a blogging platform already linked to the most powerful business social networking tool, it's SEO friendly and very easy to do.

An example of a digital marketing strategy

We get the chance to present our digital marketing ideas all the time to clients but for those clients that don't know what we do here is an example.

The Swansea Employability Academy (SEA) is a department of Swansea University that aims to help students improve their employability and provide talented students for local businesses We have written this strategy document as a general guide to what could be improved and the marketing opportunities that exist. The draft strategy covers:
  • An appraisal of the current online marketing
  • An online communications strategy
  • A social media strategy
  • An SEO strategy

One of the key elements of the strategy is making more use of video. This is something we are encouraging all businesses and organisations to to as it can help SEO results significantly and social media sites such as Facebook are showing signs of giving preference to displaying posts featuring video.

Our latest case study on the social media and general digital marketing we've been doing for one of out clients is now live here: Cognation MTB marketing Case Study.

Case studies are the best way we know to share what we do and the cognation project really shows what can be achieved.

We've been working with the Cognation for several years now and have found it immensely rewarding and lots of fun too as who doesn't want to go mountain biking as part of their job?

As well as the fun, we've delivered serious online marketing results. Take a look at the full case study to see what we mean.

Video was a key part of the marketing strategy and contributed a lot to raising awareness of Cognation. We also used it to our advantage to increase Facebook Page likes via a Facebook app.

Love cake? You'll love our new client!

We are really pleased to say we are now working with a new client called 'When it's Scone it's Gone', they make fantastic cakes, scones and other treats that are suitable for people with intolerances and allergies. So if you've got a nut allergy, are lactose or gluten intolerant or just fancy something naughty, check them out!

So what will we be doing for them?

We predict great things for this client as after only just building their website they're already getting loads of traffic and orders which shows the demand for what they offer.

To take things even further we will be:
  • Managing their Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest
  • Blogging
  • Creating web pages to help their SEO
  • Sending out regular email newsletters
  • Building their email database
  • Driving sales to their website and also their market days
We're really looking forward to working on this project as we hope to be sampling some of their products soon!

Staying 'connected' when your sailing across the Atlantic

For many of us, all we have to do to update our favourite social media site like Facebook is whip out our smart phone and post our status update. But what do you do when you're on a small yacht in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean 1000 nautical miles from land?!

Our friends Steve and Annemarie are currently sailing their 12.7m yacht from the Canary Islands to the Caribbean. Thanks to technology we can follow them and live this amazing experience with them day by day through Facebook, their blog and also a location tracking device.

The image below is a screen capture showing their live position (click image to see the latest) and the blog (bottom of page) gives an amazing insight into life aboard a small boat in the middle of the ocean. They're managing to post regular blogs that are also simultaneously posted to Facebook.

If like us, you spend most of your time at a desk in an office, following this adventure is wonderful escapism and we wish Steve and Annemarie safe travels.

Blogging and creating web content for SEO and social media

In our latest work for mountain biking trails client 'Cognation' we recently recognised an opportunity to help them improve their search engine optimisation (SEO) and also simultaneously create some great content for their social media sites.

The project involved creating a web page with a video, a blog linking to the page and then sharing all the content via social media sites like Facebook, Twitter and Google plus.

To do this we sourced content from a number of sources including interviewing people and ensuring that a mixture of media (video, pictures etc) was used for maximum human and search engine engagement.

The result:
  • Within one day the blog was ranking top on Google for the search terms 'History of MTB in Wales' and 'Mountain biking history Wales
  • Higher than average number of shares and likes on Facebook
  • 14 retweets within 17 hours of publishing
  • Increased awareness of the latest mountain biking trails due to be launched
