An example of a digital marketing strategy

24/4/2015

We get the chance to present our digital marketing ideas all the time to clients but for those clients that don't know what we do here is an example.

The Swansea Employability Academy (SEA) is a department of Swansea University that aims to help students improve their employability and provide talented students for local businesses We have written this strategy document as a general guide to what could be improved and the marketing opportunities that exist. The draft strategy covers:
  • An appraisal of the current online marketing
  • An online communications strategy
  • A social media strategy
  • An SEO strategy

Click on the slideshow below to view the draft marketing strategy:
One of the key elements of the strategy is making more use of video. This is something we are encouraging all businesses and organisations to to as it can help SEO results significantly and social media sites such as Facebook are showing signs of giving preference to displaying posts featuring video.

Is this the sort of help your business or organisation needs? Fill in the contact form here to get digital and social media marketing help South Wales

We've been supporting our local brewery's marketing now for just over 2 months and even we've been surprised at the results! This blog post shows some of the work we've been doing and we're only just getting started as once the new website is live we expect things to improve even further. After reading this blog take a look at the full detailed case study: Digital and social media marketing for breweries.

Here are some highlights (visual examples at the bottom of this page):
  • Running monthly giveaways to get more Facebook Likes and Email Newsletter signups

  • Maximising mentions PR in online and social media
  • Setting up Analytics tools to monitor traffic to marketing channels

The results have been the following:
  • Facebook Likes up over 185%
  • Twitter followers up over 124%
  • Email newsletter subscribers up by over 700 from 0
  • An increase in local and national brand awareness
  • Overall social media media marketing brand awareness up by 120%
  • Month on month increase in website visitors of 164%

Offline event marketing support

Design of fliers to help promote the beers of the brewery and also to encourage competition entries via a Facebook competition app. The fliers are suitable to be reused at a number of different events (such as beer festivals and markets) and also in restaurants and off licences. These have had a very positive effect in increasing Facebook Page likes and also email newsletter subscribers.

Maximising PR opportunities using social media

Below you can see one of the Facebook posts from the brewery's page relating to a mention within an article on an online newspaper. We made sure that we shared and promoted this as much as possible.

Using Analytics to track online marketing performance

Here you can see the Twitter analytics on a single tweet sent out relating to their TV interview on BBC news around the use of real oysters in their stout. This was fantastic PR that required us to maximise value by using social media to share the online version of the video:
